Words Words Words

Guess what this month is …. Kalimat, which means “words.”

Yay! I love words! And in the last month I was privileged to do some editing on a briliant non-fiction book even get paid for it. I also gave extensive unsoliticed feedback on a novel in progress and on a student worksheet … and herein lies a problem. The “unsolicited” matter. Is this the spirit of Helpfulness or of Pride talking?

Baha’u’llah counsels:

One word is like unto springtime causing the tender saplings of the rose-garden of knowledge to become verdant and flourishing, while another word is even as a deadly poison. It behoveth a prudent man of wisdom to speak with utmost leniency and forbearance so that the sweetness of his words may induce everyone to attain that which befitteth man’s station.

A day late and a dollar short – this is the second day of the Baha’i month of Kalimat. I forgot what I was doing. There are no holy days this month. I hope to be back in 18 days, to get back on track.

This is a pretty flower in bloom right now.

Yesterday Today & Tomorrow is its name. It comes out purple, fades to lavendar and then to white over the course of three days.

May your yesterdays, your todays and your tomorrows all be filled with joy.
